USER GOALS AND CHALLENGES
I want a dashboard where I can quickly see how my proposals are performing—track revenue, monitor conversion rates, and stay updated on the latest status—all in one place, without having to manually gather data or jump between different screens.
It’s hard to tell how much revenue we’re actually generating from these proposals. I wish I could see the financial impact right away.
I’m sending proposals, but I have no way of knowing how many are converting leads into clients. I need to track that better.
I can see which proposals I’ve sent, but I have no idea how many are getting accepted or rejected. I need more than just a list.
It’s impossible to track changes or see what actions were taken on a proposal.

ABOUT QOUNT
OVERVIEW
Qount is a comprehensive SAAS based financial management platform designed to streamline and automate accounting processes for businesses of all sizes. Their platform integrates advanced accounting features, expense management, invoicing, and tax preparation into a single, user-friendly interface. Qount aims to simplify financial workflows, enhance accuracy, and provide valuable insights through powerful analytics and reporting tools. With a focus on user experience, Qount continuously innovates to meet the evolving needs of the clients, offering solutions that save time, reduce errors, and improve financial transparency.
The Proposals Module is a critical feature within Qount, providing users with the ability to manage, track, and analyze business proposals. Previously, the module was limited to a basic table view displaying only minimal information, such as the proposal name, recipient, and date sent. Users faced challenges in navigating this static format, which lacked real-time updates, detailed insights, and actionable data. This resulted in inefficiencies, making it difficult to track proposal statuses, measure financial impact, and monitor lead-to-client conversion rates.
To address these challenges, the module was redesigned with a focus on providing a comprehensive, user-centric dashboard. The updated dashboard consolidates essential information, such as detailed proposal statuses, revenue tracking, lead conversion metrics, and notifications, into a single, dynamic interface. By introducing data automation, real-time reporting, and actionable notifications, users can now efficiently manage proposals, track performance, and make informed decisions based on advanced analytics.
This redesign aims to significantly improve user experience, streamline workflow, and provide clear visibility into the financial and operational impact of proposals. The new features not only resolve the issues users faced but also unlock opportunities for enhanced business growth and performance tracking.

The audit screen delves into the proposal success and decline rates, highlighting reasons for declined proposals and providing insights into the average time taken to accept or reject a proposal. This fosters better decision-making and process optimization.
The primary dashboard provides critical insights at a glance, such as revenue, conversion rates, and proposal statuses. The screen illustrates a detailed graphical analysis of the revenue trends over time and the lead-to-client conversion funnel, giving users a clear understanding of their proposal pipeline. Notifications and comments are prominently displayed, enabling real-time collaboration.
Lastly, the proposals overview offers a structured view of all proposals, segmented into different stages like drafts, sent, accepted, and declined. The clear status indicators, timestamps, and monetary details allow users to manage their proposals efficiently, track progress, and take necessary actions. The overall design ensures that users can swiftly analyze, respond, and act on their proposals, thus optimizing their workflow.

USER INTERFACE

The Audit UI focuses on reducing cognitive load by using a monochromatic design to highlight key metrics like success and decline rates. I applied the Principle of Calm Technology, ensuring only essential data, such as proposal rates and decline reasons, are featured to avoid overwhelming users. By minimizing visual clutter and using clear sections, the interface allows users to quickly interpret important insights, improving decision-making and overall usability.

The Proposals Dashboard UI follows Hick’s Law, simplifying decision-making by organizing information into clear, distinct sections like revenue, conversion rates, and proposal status. By limiting the number of options or actions on each screen, the user is guided smoothly through the interface without feeling overwhelmed. I also applied Fitts’ Law by positioning frequently accessed features, such as Proposal status overview, recent proposals, notifications and comments in easily clickable areas. The dashboard’s clean design ensures that essential data is visible at a glance, reducing user effort in navigating the system. Consistency in design, with uniform typography and button styles, further enhances familiarity and usability, allowing users to quickly learn and interact with the interface intuitively.

The Proposal Management UI employs key design principles to enhance usability. Organizational clarity structures proposals into distinct sections for easy navigation, while a strong visual hierarchy emphasizes essential elements like titles and action buttons. The action-oriented design encourages user interaction with prominently placed buttons for creating and editing proposals. Additionally, feedback mechanisms provide immediate responses to actions, boosting engagement. A minimalist approach reduces visual clutter, allowing users to focus on critical tasks, and accessibility considerations ensure usability for diverse users. Together, these principles create an intuitive interface for efficient proposal management.
REFINEMENTS
After a thorough analysis of user needs and feedback , it has become evident that while the existing interface provides a solid foundation, there are significant opportunities for improvement. To enhance user engagement and streamline the experience, we propose implementing a more intuitive layout that prioritizes essential information and reduces cognitive load. Key recommendations include:
1. Integrating interactive elements that allow users to filter and customize their data views, as well as providing visual cues to guide them through complex workflows.
2. Conducting user testing sessions will help identify pain points and refine the design based on real-world interactions.
3. Continuous iteration and incorporation of user feedback will be essential in ensuring the Qount platform evolves to meet the dynamic needs of its users, ultimately driving greater satisfaction and efficiency in their financial management processes.
